Edgar Wachenheim III

Edgar Wachenheim, III is founder, chairman, and CEO of Greenhaven Associates and one of Wall Street’s preeminent investors. He has run Greenhaven for over 30 years, and Greenhaven currently manages about $8.5 billion in funds. Its clients include David Rockefeller, Amherst College, and Carnegie Hall. Wachenheim is a graduate of Williams College and the Harvard Business School, where he was elected a Baker Scholar after his freshman year. Before going into the investment business, he worked as a security analyst at Goldman Sachs and was head of Central National-Gottesman’s Investment Division. In 1987, he formed Greenhaven Associates, and he has been a prominent figure on Wall Street ever since.
