Martin Neil Baily is a Senior Fellow Emeritus at the Brookings Institution, where he was the Bernard L. Schwartz Chair in Economic Policy Development from 2007 to 2020. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers under President Clinton from 1999 to 2001 and was a member of the Council from 1994 to 1996. Baily has also been a Partner at McKinsey & Company and a Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute. He has taught at MIT, Yale, and the University of Maryland and currently advises McKinsey & Company and the Albright Stonebridge Group. An expert on productivity, financial regulation, and retirement policy, he frequently writes op-eds and appears in the media.
