Robert P. Watson is a distinguished scholar and author renowned for his extensive contributions to the fields of politics and history. He has published three dozen nonfiction books, including The Presidents’ Wives, Affairs of the State, and the award-winning America’s First Crisis, which received the 2014 Gold Medal in History from the Independent Publishers’ Association (IPPY). In addition to his prolific writing, Dr. Watson has contributed to two encyclopedia sets, three novels, and hundreds of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, and reference essays. A frequent media commentator, he serves as the political analyst for WPTV 5 (NBC) in Florida and was a long-time Sunday columnist for the Sun-Sentinel newspaper. Dr. Watson is a Distinguished Professor of American History at Lynn University.
