Desmond Shum, born in Shanghai and raised in Hong Kong, spearheaded the development of China’s largest air cargo logistics facility, the Beijing Airport Cargo Terminal. He also played a key role in the creation of the Bulgari Hotel in Beijing. Since the early 2000s, Desmond has been a trailblazer in philanthropy, making significant contributions both within China and internationally. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is an alumnus of the joint EMBA program of Northwestern University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
