Louis E. Newman is a leading scholar of Jewish ethics with over 35 years of experience in teaching and writing about Jewish ideas. His notable works include Repentance: The Meaning and Practice of Teshuvah, Past Imperatives: Studies in the History and Theory of Jewish Ethics, and An Introduction to Jewish Ethics. Currently, he is the Dean of Academic Advising and Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education at Stanford University. Newman previously served as a professor and administrator at Carleton College. He is also an ethics coach and consultant, actively involved in various educational and community organizations.
