Edward D. Kleinbard sadly passed away from cancer shortly after completing the final manuscript for his book, What’s Luck Got to Do With It. At the time of his death, he held the Robert C. Packard Trustee Chair in Law at USC’s Gould School of Law and was a Fellow at The Century Foundation. Before these roles, Professor Kleinbard was Chief of Staff for the U.S. Congress’s Joint Committee on Taxation—a non-partisan tax advisory body—and spent over thirty years in private practice as a distinguished international tax expert.
